Monday Makers Women’s Group

The Monday Makers group provides local women with the opportunity to socialise and get creative every week. This group also provides women with the opportunity to have a strong voice in organising and shaping new events for the community.

Monday Maker’s is a group that has been running for the last five years. Originally it was based at The Energy Zone, but for the last two years it has ran from Roman Road Library supported by The Local Conversations.  The weekly session runs every Monday between 9.30am – 1.30pm. The group consists of women aged from their early twenties through to the oldest member who is eighty five years young. Group members enjoy making different crafts, these include crocheting, knitting, card making, sewing, Pom Pom Blankets, quilting, Loom Bands, diamond art, dress making and a variety of seasonal crafts and each session finishes with a game or two of Bingo, all this for a nominal fee of £1.00. The group allows all ages to meet in a warm friendly environment and enjoy company of those that live within the Higher Croft area.

As well as the above activities, the group regularly enjoy trips out, these include recent visits to Bury Market, Hunkydory Crafts in Preston, visiting Blackpool to enjoy stage shows and Christmas meals.

This is one of the rare groups that run throughout 50 weeks of the year.
